Mohammed Hafiz

Founder

With over 30 years of distinguished professional experience across various sectors, Mohammed Hafiz is a visionary leader known for pioneering innovation, driving strategic growth, and promoting technology-driven initiatives in Saudi Arabia. As the Group CEO and Founder of Takween Technologies, he is committed to delivering transformative smart solutions aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

Mohammed has an extensive background as an entrepreneur, senior executive, and influential board member. His leadership roles include serving as the CEO of AlSawani Retail Group for over 22 years, where he successfully managed a robust retail network comprising more than 700 stores and 4,000 employees. Mohammed has also provided strategic advisory to the Saudi Minister of Culture and Media, underscoring his ability to bridge diverse sectors effectively.

Passionate about innovation, Mohammed's vast experience encompasses various industries including Retail, F&B, Education, Commercial and Residential Real Estate, and notably Art and Culture. He played a crucial role in launching the first Jeddah Shopping Festival in 2012, demonstrating his innovative approach to integrating business strategies with cultural initiatives.

Mohammed's contributions extend significantly to Saudi Arabia’s cultural scene. He co-founded Athr Gallery in Jeddah in 2009, now recognized as a progressive and influential art space regionally. He further supported groundbreaking cultural initiatives, including Edge of Arabia’s traveling exhibitions (2008-2014) and curated its first major exhibition in Jeddah in 2012. Mohammed served as a founding member and Vice Chairman of the Saudi Art Council, driving the successful non-profit initiative 21,39 Jeddah Arts from 2014-2022, focusing on Saudi Modern and Contemporary Art. In 2022, he established the Athr Foundation, where he serves as Director and Trustee.

Today, Mohammed leverages his extensive expertise and strategic insights to position Takween Technologies as a leader in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions, cementing his reputation as a prominent figure in Saudi Arabia’s evolving technological landscape. Mohammed also actively contributes as a Board Member of MISK Art Institute, Board Member of Dar AlFikr School, and as a member of The Sector Council for Skills for the Culture and Entertainment Sector, highlighting his comprehensive approach to innovation and leadership across multiple dimensions.

Otman Ben Fradj

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Otman Ben Fradj is an internationally recognized executive with over 18 years of experience leading major technology-driven projects and events worldwide. Throughout his career, Otman has consistently demonstrated his capacity to integrate cutting-edge technology into large-scale, high-profile initiatives, positioning him as a prominent leader in the tech-driven event industry.

Notably, Otman successfully led groundbreaking projects, including the implementation of advanced smart counting solutions at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, effectively managing real-time fan flow analytics across metro systems and stadiums. He further partnered with Qatar’s Ministry of Transport to introduce innovative digital content screens for the country’s new fleet of electric buses, enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency through technology.

At Takween Technologies, Otman played a critical role in strategically delivering complex technological solutions for prominent projects such as the Islamic Arts Biennale Jeddah, and pioneering crowd management solutions for the Presidency of the Holy Sites in Makkah and Madinah, demonstrating his exceptional capabilities in technology integration and real-time analytics systems.

Previously, Otman has collaborated with globally recognized organizations, including the World Economic Forum, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, Royal Commission of Riyadh City, and Qatar Foundation amongst others, consistently emphasizing innovation and technological excellence. His extensive expertise in implementing advanced tech solutions solidifies his reputation as a key innovator and strategic leader in the international technology and events industry.

Managing Partner

Essam Ewis

Financial Director

Essam Ewis is a highly experienced financial controller with 19 years in the field. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting and has earned multiple accounting certifications, including Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

His career began at KPMG, where he worked as an auditor, gaining valuable insights into financial practices. Throughout his career, Essam has taken on significant supervisory financial roles, notably for the Wadi AlFann Pre-Opening Experience project streams.

His expertise has been instrumental in managing the financial aspects of the Wadi AlFann Immersive Experience 2024. As he transitions to the Wadi AlFann Immersive Experience 2025, Ewis will continue in a supervisory capacity as Head of Finance at ATHR. He will oversee financial operations and provide comprehensive support to the project team.

His contributions will encompass both financial strategy and overall project supervision, ensuring successful execution and alignment with organizational goals. Ewis’s extensive background and leadership make him a key asset to the success of upcoming projects.
